Sono in Italia!

Ciao! We finally got here. We flew in Thursday night and were welcomed by a few of Todd's future co-workers. They were so great! They waited hours for us and our luggage! (grrrr) and were so helpful. Then, when Todd was getting TLF for us, one of our friends from Texas (also a co-worker) brought us homemade lasagna, waters, and YUMMY dessert. Man, talk about make me feel bad about my cooking, lol. It was DELICIOUS! Thank you, Foreman family! We were all starving, especially the kids. We'd been eating airplane food for a day and real food was AWESOME. We also got a phonecall from a friend here in Italy, welcoming us and offering to watch the kids and show us around (Thanks, JaNae'!). So, our welcome was above and beyond what we expected. The TLF (hotel) is great... granite countertops. tvs, etc. etc. Nothing really wanting... except hotwater in the morning when Todd wants to shower; my shower was nice 'n toasty, lol. AND I showered AFTER him, hehehehe. ;o). We checked out the commissary and BX and bought a laptop, hence the update on the blog. It was laborous work for all of us, including Logan, who had to lug the groceries back to the hotel. Food was well worth the struggle though. lol. Don't be TOOOOO jealous, but look out any of our HUGE windows and see the beautiful mountain range. They are mostly green and snowcapped still. The Italians are friendly and constitute most of the workers at the stores on base, so we get to see them often. I am really hesitant to use Italian because I don't speak it very well according to the Rosetta Stone, lol. Todd is GREAT at it though. There's a huge playground right outside our building. The kids are adjusting, but it's hard on them. We are going to try to rent a car tomorrow and see about getting a house and seeing this beautiful country! We'll keep you posted. Oh, and FYI, the hotel has a dishwasher and laundry, so we are enjoying the luxuries while we can. :o) Arrivederci, famiglia e amici!
