Out with the locals

So, yesterday we decided to check out some of the stores and things to do nearby. We went to a "petting-zoo", which has an on-site restaurant... fresh beef, lol. We plan on eating there next time. We tried finding a place to pay to enter the "zoo," but we couldn't find anything, so we walked into the restaurant and tried to ask about paying. They didn't speak much english (but why should they?) so I tried to ask in Italian. I pretty much made it sound like we wanted to buy their animals, LOL, and the Italian guy looked at me and said , "Non ho capito." So I tried to say it again, and luckily he asked in english, "You want to look at the animals?... It is free." So it was embarrassing but we had fun anyway. There were chickens and a peacock and bunnies and horses and roosters, etc. It was great for the kids but very cold and windy. I felt defeated after failing to converse and Todd tried to explain about how I could have used hand-gestures, etc., so I had Todd go into a store and try to get some insecticide for our yard... he went in and didn't speak to anyone! lol. We went to a nursery and saw the biggest locust/cricket/whatever EVER! It made me think of Revelations and about the bugs that look like horses/men. It was the size of a sparrow. We found a ferramenta (hardwarestore) and I went in and tried to speak Italiano again, and this time there was success. :o) Got the bug-killer. Our little yard is crawling with bugs; hopefully not anymore. OH, and with all the driving around, Logan just couldn't hold his potty anymore, so I ended up having to let him pee on our future patio, LOL. Lovely, I know. We'll be hosing that off ASAP. Also, we are adopting a little girl named Lucy. She is 4 years old and has brownish-black hair. Her family can't take her with them when they move away. She's a good watch-guard and is very adorable. She's a dog, bytheway, LOL. With the gypsies and Todd's schedule, we wanted to feel safe, PLUS, it'll be really fun for all of us. Travel will be fine, because most everything to see can be seen in day-trips or we can have a pet-sitter come over. We ALL feel good about it, so it's great the kids don't have to wait 4 years to have a pet. Logan has been making up goodnight songs lately. They're about Jesus and Moroni (an LDS scripture hero). He also made an alarm go off at the Shopette yesterday, so we asked him to tell the cashier about it and he just held his head down. He started to shed little tears in the car; and then we explained that it was ok and that we only wanted him to tell her because it's the right thing to do. Lyndsey is speaking more and more. She said "eyes" today. She likes to say, "Where's Dada?" and "C'mon!" They're so fun! It's great to be here, but we are feeling the sadness of losing our TERRIFIC TERRIFIC TERRIFIC friends. We MISS you guys so much and hope to be the kind of friends you were to us! We LOVE LOVE LOVE all of our family, too! We're so thankful for such great people in our lives! Arrivederci!

We're "famous": Check us out on tv: http://www.aviano.af.mil/library/videonewsreports/index.asp

We went on the "Benvenuti tour" (Welcome tour) and got to be on the news clip about it. Cool, huh? We're a little embarrassed about it, but thought we'd let you laugh at us. ;o)
