Colby, I dunno if you were serious about wanting to see our food storage closet, but here it is anyway. lol. We certainly aren't gurus, but we are trying to figure this out. We have a walk-in closet in Logan's room and put the cases of food on either side. There are about 40 cases, so a lot fit in there with room to spare. Don't mind the MESS intermingled in there! :o)

We started buying the watercooler jugs but found they aren't good on space, so we bought 7 gallon square ones and they're great (Wal-Mart ~$9/ea.)! You can stack them, too.

You'll notice the water's on wood boards, and that's because the water keeps better off the ground (concrete, etc. tends to promote bacterial growth for whatever reason). Also, it's best to put your cases on wood, too, and not touching the walls. We have a 3 adult basic supply (Wheat/Sugar/Pinto Beans/Oats). Just ordered some red wheat from LDScatalog.com, and that was real quick getting here, but cost more than the cannery. We Mormons may seem CRAZY hauling food around, but it is comforting to know that we can feed our families if something ever happened. If anyone has better storage ideas, we'd love to hear 'em! :o)

Yes, this was helpful!! Especially about the water. Next, you'll have to tell me what you do with that wheat:). Tell Logan, if he ever wants to visit a lizard, not only do we have one in a cage, but we have lizards that visit our window each night. I can see them right now from our computer! They're very entertaining, and they often get in fights.
I love looking at your blog. You have such a fun fam.
